All of These Garmin Edge Bike Computers have a Long Life
As you can see, the minimum battery life is still a very solid 12 hours. This is for the bottom-of-the-line Garmin Edge 130 Plus, and the oldest model, the Garmin Edge Explore.
Battery Save Mode
Also, almost all of the units have battery save mode. You can put them into this mode when you are worried about your battery running out.
I have used this many times, and really like it. Essentially you can no longer see anything on the computer face. However, although the unit appears dead, it is quietly recording all of the ride data in the background.
Use a Battery Extender for Even Longer Battery Life
As you can see, all of the Garmin Edge bike computers have extremely long battery life. Most will suffice for even the most dedicated cyclist. However, if you do extremely long rides, then you also have the option to plug in the extra Garmin External Battery Pack to add in an extra 20 hours of battery life.
