I was found unconscious on a quiet country road.Retrograde amnesia means I have no idea what happened. But I think I hit some rubble. I must have landed on the side of my head as the helmet was badly scuffed and I had a clavicle fracture on that side.
So I think you should rethink that you don’t need a helmet off-road, on a dirt track or quiet country road. That random tree root, loose stone, area of black ice or avoiding a cat may mean that your helmet stops a nasty head injury.
